The mission of the Robeson County Cooperative (aka - Coop) for Sustainable Development (RCCSD) is to build an inclusive, multiracial base of organized influence, primarily in Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) and low-income communities in order to achieve environmental, climate, energy, and disaster justice and sustainable development in Robeson County, NC and Southeastern NC. Robeson County is the most racially diverse, rural county in the United States and one of its poorest. It is 39% Indigenous, 26% White, 24% Black, 8% Latinx, 1% Asian, and 1% identified as multiracial.
