RCCSD is a multi-generational and multi-racial organization committed to utilizing public-private partnerships and community empowerment strategies to promote sustainable development and a regenerative economy in Robeson County and Southeastern NC. Its programs focus on environmental protection, renewable energy development, disaster recovery and resiliency, and creative and sustainable solutions to degenerating rural economies through the empowerment and leadership of impacted community members and leaders. Its two major projects are the Robeson County Disaster Survival and Resiliency School and the Environmental, Energy, and Climate Justice Project. Both projects include public-private partnerships and significant collaborations with other local, regional, state, and national organizations and educational institutions.
